One of my favorite memories as a little girl, was looking through my grandparents wedding album, dreaming about what my wedding would be like someday. They had a gorgeous album with full page prints. My Great Uncle was a photographer and took the pictures for their special day. Photography has always been a part of my life. My grandfather was also a photographer, and my mother inherited his passion too. I grew up surrounded by a family of photographers.
Another favorite memory is when my grandfather would have us come over for photography nights. My siblings were there for the popcorn, but I sat on the edge of my chair, excited to see every single picture he would show us. With a big screen set up in his small dining room, he would show us one by one, all the images of his latest brilliant photography work. He would explain in great detail what made each image so special. He intentionally taught me about composition, light and storytelling. He was a master at his craft, and I am privileged to have learned so much at such an early age.
It was not until I was an adult, pursuing my own dream to be a photographer, that I could fully appreciate the great inheritance I have. I wish that my grandfather was alive to see that I have carried on the family tradition. He would be so proud of me.
